Potomac-Hudson Environmental, Inc, (PHEnv) prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA)/4(f) Evaluation, pursuant to NEPA, FHWA and Section 106 guidelines, for the proposed construction of access roadways and regional ferry interrmodal transportation center.

PHEnv designed and conducted a transportation-related noise level study at the proposed Development Project in South Amboy, NJ. Results from this study were used to demonstrate if the project fell within FHWA and NJDOT Site Acceptability Standards for Noise.

Located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, the South Amboy Intermodal Transportation Project area was exposed to numerous complex noise sources due to its proximity to airport flight patterns, passenger and freight railroads, industry, and numerous converging highways. Key components of the noise evaluation included quantization of existing noise sources, computer modeling of future noise sources, and comparison to State and Federal standards, and mitigative measures.
